About the Author, Lamar Wadsworth

I'm a native of Rockmart GA (between Aragon and VanWert, 6 miles southwest of Taylorsville), though I've lived in Baltimore since 1989. I've been a Baptist minister since 1973, having served churches in Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, and Maryland. I've had articles published in Baptists Today and Priscilla Papers (publication of Christians for Biblical Equality), and I write an occasional column for my home town paper, The Rockmart Journal, which is published faithfully once a week whether anything happens or not. My wife Marilyn and I have three grown daughters and one grandson.

I graduated from Jacksonville State University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I also attended Murray State University, where I studied creative writing with Kentucky poet, short story writer, and novelist Jesse Stuart.

Jesse Stuart advised his students to "write about the world you know." Thus my novel is set in the world I know best, rural and small-town Baptist churches in the deep south, which offer enough fascinating characters and plot lines to keep a writer busy for a lifetime.
