Although the Gunpowder Clearinghouse has come to fruition through the efforts of many, most website construction has occurred at Towson University under the supervision of the persons listed below. William James Smith, Jr. -- Project Leader
William will complete his MA at Towson
University in Geography and Environmental Planning in August, 1999. He will attend the University of Delaware's Center For Energy and Environmental Policy to complete his Ph.D. beginning in Fall of 1999.
Research interests include socio-political aspects of drinking water management in the developing world, international affairs, international distance
education, planning for the disabled, human rights, national security, natural resource conservation, the role of multi-national organizations
in developing countries, water resource management and public health, and the Philippines. By August, 1999 he will produce a MA thesis that
focuses on utilizing GIS and internet technology to enhance public participation in watershed management (based on the Gunpowder experience). You

Michael Weller
Michael has recently graduated from Towson University, majoring in both Biology and Geography/Environmental Planning. He is primarily interested in studies concerning preservation of the environment. Michael hopes to continue these studies at the
